The mind is pensive
The heart is hypertensive.
You try your best but you dont succeed
You feel so tired but you can’t sleep.
The clock is stuck on thoughts
The body is tied in knots.
Emotional and uncontrollable
The soul seems inconsolable.
Pulled in so beneath
Until you finally breathe…
Lots of people suffer from anxiety and the worse is that it is often misunderstood. Well actually, some simply do not understand, which can be the hardest part. Not being able to explain why you feel the way you feel, not being to explain why your body reacts the way it does… Anxiety is a feeling that overtakes your mind and body. It is a feeling of worry, of nervousness, of apprehension, of fear and one that leaves you quite vulnerable especially through someone else’s eyes.
A WYSEthought I’d like to share is to be understanding to those who experience anxiety. They feel their heart pounding, their mind dizzy, their hands shaking and beyond all of this, they have to face life and its challenges just like some else who isn’t experiencing any of these symptoms.
I wrote this poem to give others a glimpse of the panic one can experience even if it seems unjustified. We must see with the eyes of another, listen with the ears of another and feel with the heart of another.
